As the summer gets warmer, you will probably want new ways to stay cool, and ice-cold drinks help us the most. Although cold water is the first choice to help with thirst and cool off, it is still far from an exciting drink. But, if you put a few flavored ice cubes in it, you will instantly have a beautiful and flavored summer drink! Flavored ice proved to be the first choice for serving cold drinks on summer terraces and garden parties. This new trend of flavored ice cubes will encourage your creativity and show you that ice does not have to be boring. This little trick will enrich all your favorite alcoholic, but also non-alcoholic drinks.
By adding fresh spices, edible flowers, or dried fruits, you will discover that while the ice melts, they are slowly releasing their flavors and aromas, and you will experience a gradual transformation from one flavor to another. Except for the aroma, some spices will also release their beautiful natural color and make your drinks shine in color and flavor.
The “recipe” is quite simple:
- Prepare the spices, edible herbs, flowers, or dried fruits you want to use.
- Put them in an ice tray.
- Pour water over them.
- Put the ice tray in the freezer overnight.
The ice cubes need a few hours to freeze, so make sure you prepare them a day in advance. When the ice cubes freeze, take them out of the tray and put them in a container or a freezer bag. Hereby they will always be easily available to use.
