Peruvian salt comes from the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco Peru and is therefore also called Inca salt. Since before Christ, a high concentration of mineral salt has come from the ancient ocean inside the Earth. These mountains are located at 3500m above sea level. The warning salty water filles into 3000 salt lakes. The harvesting process is done by hand and passed down through the generations. It is a local tradition that has existed since the time of the Incas.
