Korean Buddhist priests treated sea salt in various ways, one of them being bamboo salt, which was originally used only for medicinal purposes.
Bamboo salt is sea salt baked in bamboo tubes.
Bamboo salt can be baked or "burned" several times. The more the salt is burned, the proportion of minerals increases, and at the same time the proportion of substances that are bad for the human body decreases, i.e. impurities. Salt that has been burned in bamboo tubes as many as 9 times is considered a specialty and has the biggest amount of medicinal properties, and its alkalinity can reach up to pH 11.
You can buy salt that has been baked 1, 3, 6 and 9 times.
Bamboo salt baked 9 times is sometimes called purple bamboo salt because the crystals are dark purple in color after repeated firing, which turn into a fine white powder after grinding.
Many medicinal properties are often added to this salt, especially anticarcinogenic ones, due to the large number of minerals it contains.
Our bamboo salt has been burned once at a temperature of 1000-1500°C. During this process, the salt maintained a pH of 7-8 and is 100% natural.
Bamboo salt is extremely salty and is fine like powdered sugar. It goes especially well with raw vegetables, rice and millet.
